Types of User Accounts Available at DOLL-WORLD
Most content at DOLL-WORLD can be viewed free without an account or signing into an existing account. However, registering for an account (which is also free) and signing in grants access to additional activities and interactions our site has to offer. Here’s a brief explanation of permissions granted to various account levels available at DOLL-WORLD.

SUBSCRIBER (MEMBER) ACCOUNT is the most basic account level, and new registration by default grants this level of access with the following capabilities:
- Username. Choose a Username when creating your account (cannot be changed once created).
- Display Name. Choose a name to show publicly on our website (can be changed anytime).
- Nickname. Choose a name to be used as a contact URL – @nickname – that shows publicly on our website (can be changed anytime).
- Avatar. Choose a picture shown publicly on website by your Display Name (can be changed anytime, or don’t select/upload and use the default blank/no Avatar).
- Blog. Leave comments, also follow/subscribe to posts to see comment updates.
- Forums. Comment in forums, create new forum topics, subscribe to follow forum topics and receive notification when new comments are added.
- Private Messaging. Communicate with other members privately by exchanging messages.

SHOPPER (CUSTOMER) ACCOUNT. Any account level also has by default basic SHOPPER/CUSTOMER account access if/when an account-holder purchases items through DOLL-WORLD. Your name and shipping address are required to complete your purchases. In addition to SUBSCRIBER access, this account level will allow you to do the following:
- Purchase and pay for items for sale at DOLL-WORLD.
- Take advantage of sales and coupons to enjoy additional discounts.
- View previous order details.
- Create and share a Wish List.

CONTRIBUTOR ACCOUNT. In addition to the activities allowed with a SUBSCRIBER (or SHOPPER) account, a CONTRIBUTOR account grants the following privileges:
- Submit blog articles for approval and publishing on our site.
- Submit DYI tutorials and patterns for approval and publishing on our site.
- Access restricted BUY/SELL/TRADE forum.

AUTHOR ACCOUNT. In addition to the activities allowed with a CONTRIBUTOR account, an AUTHOR account grants the following privileges:
- Upload/publish/delete your own content on DOLL-WORLD, including blog articles, DIY tutorials, etc.

EDITOR ACCOUNT. In addition to the activities allowed with an AUTHOR account, an EDITOR account grants the following upgrade privileges:
- Write, edit, publish, or delete anyone’s blog articles, DYI tutorials and patterns, or other content.
- Moderate and add comments to blog articles, DIY tutorials, and open forums.

Accessing/Editing DOLL-WORLD Account Information
DOLL-WORLD ACCOUNT ACCESS DEPENDS ON WEBSITE FUNCTIONAL AREAS. All registered members of the DOLL-WORLD community have a single membership account but two different types of access to their account information, depending on what part of the website they are using – FORUM or SHOP. The SHOP ACCOUNT contains information pertaining to purchases while the FORUM ACCOUNT contains more biographical information. Information in either account may appear different but is virtually the same and is synchronized so that changes made to information in one account type will be reflected instantly in the other account. Our website uses the FORUM ACCOUNT Login and Profile by default because it contains more member information than the SHOP ACCOUNT. The two account portals are discussed in more detail below.

FORUM ACCOUNT. Every DOLL-WORLD account holder will have a personalized page on the forum platform. This page is used to navigate the forum topics, member lists, and access personal account information. A member who is signed in to their account can click on the forum menu buttons at the top of the forum shell to access the following navigational links:
- Forums – Link to access forums and topics that will display below the forum navigation menu.
- Members – Link to access list of forum members and view their profiles.
- Recent Posts – Link to view the most recent forum posts.
- Add New Topic – Link to add a new forum topic.
- Forum Account – Link for member to access/edit account information such as address, email, password, etc.
- Shop Account – Link to the member’s Shop Account page to access/edit account information such as address, email, password, wish list, etc., and view recent orders.
- Register – Link to the standalone Account Registration page containing a Registration form to create a new account at DOLL-WORLD. If the visitor is already signed in to an existing account, clicking on the link will show the Registration form with the message: “You are already registered and logged in.” (There is no link to return to the forum.)
- Login/Logout – Link to log in or log out of the visitor’s DOLL-WORLD account. If the visitor is already signed in, only the Logout link will be visible. Clicking on this link will immediately sign out the visitor. If the visitor is not signed in, only the Login link will be visible. Clicking on this link will bring up the Login form. At the bottom of the Login form is a link to “create account” which goes to the standalone Registration page.

SHOP ACCOUNT. Any visitor who registers for an account at DOLL-WORLD will automatically have a SHOP ACCOUNT set up at the time of registration. When a visitor logs in and views the SHOP ACCOUNT, information provided at time of registration will be populated in the account information. However, to make purchases from the DOLL-WORLD shop, the member must supply additional information needed to complete purchases, such as Billing Address and Shipping Address. That information can be entered at the time of initial purchase, or anytime the member wants to update that account information. The SHOP ACCOUNT can be accessed in a couple different ways:
- Website main menu – Go to the main website navigation menu at the top of every page (or the top “hamburger” menu on mobile devices). Click on the submenu SHOP ACCOUNT link under the main menu SHOP link.
- Forum menu. If the member is signed in while visiting the website forum, the SHOP ACCOUNT link can be found in the forum main menu bar.
Once the SHOP ACCOUNT page is accessed, the member will find two boxed areas. Information available for the SHOP ACCOUNT is positioned on the left (or in the top/first section if on mobile device). That section is split into a left reading panel and a right navigation panel with clickable links to various account information. The right (or second section if on mobile device) contains a link to the member’s forum profile. In the SHOP ACCOUNT section the member can view/edit the following account information:
- Dashboard – The default view for the SHOP ACCOUNT section provides brief instructions for accessing account information or logging out.
- Orders – Link to view past orders, most recent on top.
- Downloads – Link to view a list of downloaded products.
- Addresses – Link to view/edit billing and shipping addresses.
- Account Details – Link to open form to change Name, Display Name, Email, or Password.
- Wishlist – Link to view products added to Wishlist. Items can be deleted or sent to cart for purchase.
- Logout – Link to log out of account. Unlike the Logout link in FORUM ACCOUNT that immediately signs out the visitor if clicked, clicking on the SHOP ACCOUNT Logout link will display a confirmation request that, if clicked, will then sign the visitor out of their account.
- Forum Account – Link inside right boxed section to open FORUM ACCOUNT.

Content Agreement at DOLL-WORLD
IMPLIED CONTENT AGREEMENT. By submitting content for upload at DOLL-WORLD, you agree to the stipulations outlined in this agreement.
Content will be approved before publishing. Depending on account level privileges, all content submitted for upload at DOLL-WORLD will be held for approval before being published on our site. We cannot guarantee that any and all content submitted will be accepted for publishing on our site. We enjoy a lot of varied doll content, and our tolerance level is fairly high, based on doll content we’ve viewed on various social media outlets. Because “objectionable content” is not easily defined with specific instances, feel free to email us so we can discuss any questions you may have about the acceptability of your content. If requests warrant it, we may define a website area with a “trigger” or similar warning so that viewers can choose whether or not to access and view specially designated content. Our goal is not to be prudish “content police” but simply to ensure we maintain a friendly community-based atmosphere where the content on our site will be of probable interest to a wide variety of adult doll collectors and enthusiasts.
Content will be sorted and grouped. The DOLL-WORLD site is intended for the general interest of collectors of one-sixth-scale fashion dolls, action figures, and and related items. Topics and subject matter may vary widely and include collector-line as well as play-line items from various manufacturers, plus modifications and customizations, dioramas, and related accessories. In the spirit of being inclusive, we will accept other doll and action-figure content that is not necessarily one-sixth-scale, such as popular American Girl, ball-jointed dolls, etc. We will categorize content and group similar subject matter to maintain separate areas of interest when the volume of content warrants it, so that our visitors and members can easily find aggregated content that may be of particular interest.
All articles will be edited. All contributor blog and DIY articles will be edited for optimum visual/content flow and general grammatical correctness while respecting the writer’s style. Every attempt will be made to correct errors, but we cannot guarantee the final published product will be error-free. Submission of articles and similar word-based content implies the understanding and acceptance that the published product may differ somewhat from the original submitted content. If you want to review final edits, make that clear during the submission process.
Content ownership and copyright. Contributors submitting content to DOLL-WORLD certify by submission that they are the sole owners of their content and have the right to allow DOLL-WORLD to publish the content free of charge. Content includes but is not limited to all original writing, photographs, and diagrams. Content created by someone else, which is not public domain, or which the contributor does not have copyright control, must have written permission from the original creator before it can be published on the DOLL-WORLD site.
Non-exclusive usage with license-free, royalty-free copyright permissions. Content submitted to DOLL-WORLD will not be used for any purpose other than to provide free content for website visitors to enjoy. Contributors have the right to display said content elsewhere, meaning permission granted to DOLL-WORLD is non-exclusive. All contributors retain copyright to the content they offer for upload at DOLL-WORLD. By submitting content for publication on our website, the contributor grants DOLL-WORLD permission free of charge to display content in a manner consistent with DOLL-WORLD policy and intent.
Copyright protection for content on the DOLL-WORLD website. Rights to use – replicate, republish, sell, license, or otherwise reuse – any content found on the DOLL-WORLD website, remain with the individuals who own the copyrights to said content. Co-contributors have copyright control over the content they helped create, as provided by copyright law. All content on our site is protected by copyright notice on every page to discourage unauthorized use by others, such as republishing without permission. Unauthorized use (republishing without written consent, and republishing without proper attribution) of any content is strictly prohibited.
Copyright regarding incidental comments or feedback. Due to the unique relationship between content uploaded to our website and user comments and other types of feedback, said comments/feedback will be treated as “incidental content.” Incidental content in this respect refers specifically and generally to any user comments or other type of feedback in reference to images, other media, open discussions in forums, and other written material on our website. Incidental content will not be subject to specific privacy or copyright protections, or any guarantees in regard to perpetuity, removal, or unconditional use by DOLL-WORLD. By supplying comments on articles or other content on the DOLL-WORLD site, users agree to this stipulation with no expectation of control over feedback except self-removal, if such process is readily in place at the time the comment/feedback is submitted to our site.
Duration of content and removal of content from DOLL-WORLD. We at DOLL-WORLD reserve the right to remove any content on our website at any time for any reason and imply no warranty or guarantee to maintain or promote content on the DOLL-WORLD site. Content approved for display will remain on display until such time DOLL-WORLD removes the submitted content, or the contributor requests in writing (by email) to cease displaying submitted content. Due to the caching and archival nature of the Internet, we cannot guarantee that content removed from the DOLL-WORLD site will no longer be available anywhere on the Internet.
Selling Opportunities at DOLL-WORLD
OPPORTUNITIES TO SELL THROUGH THE DOLL-WORLD PLATFORM. Currently DOLL-WORLD offers various opportunities for members to sell their doll-related items on or through the DOLL-WORLD platform. Some opportunities are still under development, and some rely heavily on community interaction, which is not currently at a high enough level to be effective. Read below about the planned/existing options for selling at DOLL-WORLD.
- Forum Sales. Message-based private community sales through restricted-access forum allows privately arranged doll sales and trades between forum members, free of charge.
- Consignment Sales (Internal). Allows members to ship doll items to DOLL-WORLD to be sold in our online shop. We photograph and list items online, handle sales, and ship items when sold, for a percentage of each item’s sales price.
- Consignment Sales (External). Allows members to upload doll items sales listings on the DOLL-WORLD shop and handle shipping remotely from their location, in exchange for a percentage of sales revenue.
- Shop Manager. (In planning stage.) Allows member to manage independent shop on the DOLL-WORLD platform; responsible for photographing and uploading listings of all products, and shipping orders.
Admin approval required. We will vet all members requesting approval to sell doll-related items through DOLL-WORLD. This is necessary to ensure the integrity of transactions and preserve our platform reputation. Other account information...
Account level/status. All new accounts are automatically granted SUBSCRIBER privileges. SHOPPER account status is added to any account once a purchase from DOLL-WORLD is made. Any upgrade to a higher account level with more privileges requires Admin approval. Click the red CONTACT US button to discuss account upgrade options and opportunities to become more active in the DOLL-WORLD community platform.
Vetting content before publishing. Any content uploaded to the DOLL-WORLD site will be held for approval/editing before it is published. Content approval prior to publishing does not apply to AUTHOR, EDITOR, and SHOP MANAGER accounts. For more information about this, see the navigation tab for CONTENT AGREEMENT.
Selling. All selling levels require prior vetting for account approval. For more information about selling opportunities on the DOLL-WORLD platform, click the red button ABOUT SELLING.
Deleting your account. If you wish to delete your account with DOLL-WORLD, notify us in writing (email). We will permanently delete all your information submitted for every type of account you may have created, except for blog and forum comments. If you wish to delete comments, do so before deleting your account, or email us to assist you with comment deletion. We will retain archival order information for accounting purposes.
Subscribe to our NEWSLETTER
Email newsletter. Subscribing to the DOLL-WORLD newsletter does not require a member account with DOLL-WORLD, nor does it create a member account. Submission of your email address to receive automated newsletter emails is all it takes to subscribe to our newsletter. Once you subscribe, you will automatically receive emails from DOLL-WORLD on an infrequent basis, usually monthly. These brief emails will notify you of updates to the DOLL-WORLD website and shop – new promotional sales, new products, new features added to the platform, noteworthy news of interest in the doll community, etc. If you have a DOLL-WORLD account and unsubscribe from the email newsletter without deleting you account, we will stop sending you newsletters via email and will no longer contact you, but will retain your information you shared with us when you created your account. You may unsubscribe/ resubscribe to our newsletter anytime without affecting other features of your DOLL-WORLD account. Use the subscription form below to subscribe to our newsletter now.
