This genuine Mattel set includes: dress, jacket, necklace, bracelet, earrings, and Yorkie-type molded plastic dog in seated position with a silver crown and a turquoise ribbon leash. This outfit is from the 2007 “Birthstone Beauties” series – December 2007 K8701. The short-sleeve demi-jacket in turquoise velveteen has puffed shoulders and a rounded opening that just meets the top back of the dress. The dress is constructed of form-fitting turquoise taffeta with a sweetheart bodice and attached pencil skirt, all covered in a glitter-infused lace overlay ending in a small lace hem ruffle. A color-coordinated ribbon adorns the waist with streamers down the front. Jacket slips on; dress snaps in back. This dress and jacket were designed for the Model Muse body but will fit similarly proportioned dolls with waistline a bit smaller than the typical Mattel belly-button or made-to-move body. This outfit is modeled on a Mizi clone replacement body doll with proportions similar to modern Fashion Royalty.

NOTES: The original set also included a Model Muse Steffie doll and a pair of left/right mule heels – however those items are not included with this set. The clear vinyl “Invisi-straps” originally attached to the neckline became stiff and brittle and have been removed. The necklace has a loop-hook wire clasp. The bracelet slips on, so may be best for dolls with removable hands. Gemstone earrings are adhered to thin metal posts that can be trimmed with wire side cutters to fit a particular doll (in case the extra post length interferes with the doll’s neck mount). This outfit comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
