Adele Makeda: Cult Couture Basic “Glamour to Go” /2007 91153 – (NRFB #5)
NRFB, EXCELLENT CONDITION. Stunning Adele Makeda on original tall Fashion Royalty body has amazing lustrous gold hair with original blunt-cut bangs and long straight styling in back. Doll does not come with applied eyelashes. (See a representative picture of this doll with moderately trimmed/feathered bangs to better show her beautiful eyes.) She comes never removed from her original retail box as follows:
- ROBE – Long luxurious red satin wrap robe trimmed in dark gray satin has a large rounded floor-length back and large pointed bell-shaped kimono-style sleeves lined with dark gray satin. (No waist tie or fasteners.)
- LINGERIE – The red bra and panties set features a lacy embroidered brocade texture with continuous ribbon accent trim under the bra cups that forms ribbon straps. Both panties and bra have back hook and thread-loop closures. (NOTE: For ease of putting on bra, slip doll’s arms through straps and fasten back, then position cups and slide straps over doll’s shoulders.)
- SHOES – Black molded hard plastic wedge soles have red satin insoles, gray ribbon toe straps, and a continuous ribbon-tie ankle strap that slides freely in a loop fastened to the back of the heel. Ankle straps can be tied like ballet slippers by cross-wrapping around the doll’s lower leg and then tying in the back with a bow.
- JEWELRY – “Diamond” stud earrings on metal posts are included on a jewelry card. dolland sleeve lining-lined sleeves imono-style Three-quarter-length ruffle sleeves and a boat neckline give this simple nylon-blend bright red dress extra visual oomph. Made by Fresh Dolls, this soft and stretchy garment is roomy enough to fit a variety of dolls including curvy Barbie, but will also fit slender dolls without looking baggy, due to the way the fabric flows. Dress has Velcro-type back closure.
- ACCESSORIES – A Lucite-base metal telescoping saddle doll stand is secured inside the inner box behind the doll. A story card for this doll is also included in a slot in the front inner lid. A Certificate of Authenticity (if included) is typically found behind the inner box.
- PACKAGING – The white retail box with hinge-type fold-over lid and hidden magnetic side clasp is in good to excellent shape with no discernible flaws or dings. The paper liner has a small tear at the bottom. Shoes and earrings are stored inside the bottom pull-out drawer. Retail box comes wrapped in a clear plastic sleeve inside the original factory shipper box and, if shipped separately, will come wrapped in poly bags for discretion and protection.
This impressive doll is a great starter for collectors new to Fashion Royalty or those looking for FR legacy fan favorites.

*NOTE 1: Doll vinyl will often become more brittle and delicate with age, as chemical softeners added to the vinyl in the manufacturing process will diminish over time. Fashion Royalty dolls are made of a harder vinyl than most play line dolls, so stress points (neck and other joint locations) on their bodies will tend to become more delicate. Please use care when posing/redressing/storing older dolls, as joints – especially the neck – can become stiff and brittle and more susceptible to breakage. If a head on an older FR doll will not turn or tilt with minimal pressure, DO NOT FORCE, as this could cause breakage.
*NOTE 2: Dolls with this FR tall “wasp-waist” body style typically have somewhat floppy hips and weak knees that take some patience to pose without using a stand or chair. Doll cannot nor is she designed to stand alone. A basic FR stand is included with this doll.
*NOTE 3: Earrings included with this doll have metal posts. Metal may, due to age and environmental conditions, tarnish. If doll is displayed or stored wearing metal jewelry, periodically check doll for discoloration from metal interacting with vinyl. This can occur with age, mostly in humid hot conditions, or if the vinyl is leaching softener chemicals. If serious, this can result in “green ear” – typical for very old vinyl dolls from the sixties. It’s best not to store dolls for long periods wearing metal accessories.
*NOTE 4: This doll has “starter” earring holes – barely noticeable slight depressions to indicate where holes can be made for symmetrical jewelry presentation. If you choose to pierce doll’s ears, a small plastic-head pushpin is ideal for this task, as it is easy to handle and creates a hole about the right size for most typical high-end metal-post earrings.
