Joe Tai: Ingrid Blonde Curly Updo /~2008 – (Dressed)

$75.99

DRESSED, RARE. Limited edition articulated collector doll “Ingrid” designed by Joe Tai, with elegant makeup and intricate golden blonde curly updo, comes with the following clothing and accessories:

  • DRESS – Nicely tailored vintage-style full-skirt short-sleeve dress constructed of premium cotton-blend fabric sporting a bright multi-color floral pattern on a black background. Stud-style snaps secure the back. (Easy dressing tip – use a small flat-head screwdriver or similar object to gently pry the snap open and save your fingernails and the fabric from undue stress.) Dress bodice is fully lined, and skirt is lined with tulle, with the couturier’s label sewn in-seam. (Made by Ebay seller cajig2014 aka Yoly’s Designs.)
  • BELT – The removable belt features a strip of real leather attached to a square metal buckle studded with faux diamonds for a nice dressy upscale look.
  • SHOES – These genuine Joe Tai brand shoes are made specifically for the Joe Tai Ingrid doll. The black faux-leather ankle-strap heels with silver slide buckles have a solid heel sole. At the current adjustment, they will slip on and off without undoing the ankle straps.
  • SHOE BOX – Joe Tai brand lift-top shoe box is included and makes a great diorama prop or shelf filler.

Description

*NOTE 1: ABOUT JOE TAI. Joe Tai was a talented fashion and doll designer first based in Taiwan, who designed intricate clothing ensembles and high-end shoes for his dolls. His creations were prized by collectors. Unfortunately he passed away in November, 2010, which brought an end to the doll and fashion line he created.

*NOTE 2: ABOUT JOE TAI DOLLS. Joe Tai dolls are made of a somewhat heavier vinyl than play line dolls, similar to early edition Mattel Silkstone. While this doll can wear many of the same clothing items as Barbie or Fashion Royalty, the feet are significantly larger, similar in size to Jakks Pacific Paradise/GIRL Force dolls, and therefore cannot wear shoes designed for most other traditional fashion dolls.

*NOTE 3: ABOUT THIS DOLL. This doll has “ratchet” elbow and wrist joints that move in predetermined increments, while other articulated dolls in this line have smooth movement. The “ratchet” joints were presumably an early design feature to ensure the doll held poses without the joints eventually loosening up over time.

*NOTE 4: METAL EARRINGS. Earrings included with this doll have metal posts. As with any vinyl doll, do not leave metal accessories, especially metal-post earrings, on doll for extended length of time either on display or in storage without checking periodically for green ear – which may likely happen in high-humidity/heat conditions.

*NOTE 5: ABOUT INCLUDED SHOES. Shoes included with this doll are made of faux leather that is nearly twenty years old and very delicate. When slipping closed straps over feet, do not stretch beyond easy / normal limit, or strap will break. Shoe top sole and straps are glued to molded heel sole and can easily be reglued with UHU glue carefully applied with a toothpick Other glues are not recommended – Superglue does not hold this type of material well, and E6000 tends to dissolve the faux leather. UHU is the only glue we recommend for this type of shoe repair. Faux leather can be repainted with acrylic paint or acrylic paint pens. Adding white school glue to the paint (if applied with brush) up to 30% glue can help the paint maintain flexibility but is not necessary and may require multiple coats for full coverage.
