    DRESSED. This 1995 play-line/collector Charice doll was part of the Candi doll line acquired by Integrity Toys that was eventually developed into the Janay & Friends play line of fashion dolls. Janay & Friends expanded to include best friends Alysa and Jade, boyfriends Jordan, Tariq, and Keith, and a twin sister named Nakia. The Charice face sculpt was the precursor to Alysa.

    This Charice is on her original body similar to a Mattel twist-waist Barbie body with similar articulation and slightly larger bust and ankles. Her floor-length straight brown hair with pink accent streaks is styled in a high ponytail with some front twists. She is wearing metal post pearl drop earrings, a long-sleeve black nylon wrap dress with white buttons decorating an asymmetric snap-front opening, black pantyhose, and black high heel pumps.

    • DOLLS – Francisco is sporting a white buzz cut (flocked hair) and is one of the first premium male dolls to be introduced by Integrity, featuring excellent sculpting and full articulation. Colette has her smooth long black hair styled with thick bangs almost eclipsing her large almond-shaped gray eyes with applied lashes. Her dark red lips compliment her medium-dark complexion. She is on the Model Behavior body featuring the same height as the legacy “wasp waist” tall Fashion Royalty body with similar “split-toe” feet but slimmer hips and smaller bust (torso similar to Poppy Parker with chest articulation and no waist articulation).
    • CLOTHING – Francisco is wearing lined black trousers and a white cotton-blend button-down shirt under a front-zipper lined black-and-white houndstooth checked short jacket with hood sporting black faux fur trim. Colette is wearing an olive green corduroy shirt under a lined deep blue nylon front-zip jacket with black fur trim, and black leggings under a black-and-white houndstooth tweed texture lined mini skirt.

    • ACCESSORIES – Colette has metal frame sunglasses and a white leatherette bag with two handles and a shoulder strap, while Francisco has metal frame sunglasses and a black textured leatherette carryall. Bottom pull-out drawers contain additional accessories. Francisco’s drawer has a pair of black leatherette casual style sports oxfords with red laces, while Colette’s drawer contains small silver hoop earrings and red leatherette high heel booties. Additionally each doll comes with a Lucite base metal telescoping stand fastened to the inner box.

    • PACKAGING – Retail box is in great shape with all items intact. Story card is located in slot inside front cover. (COA is normally located under inner box.) A couple small flaws on upper right and lower left front corner of box front are shown in pictures. (NOTE: This item has remained sealed inside its shipper box for almost 20 years and contains items such as vinyl and fabric and silicone packets that together can create a chemical odor inside confined space. However, this quickly dissipates when package is opened, leaving no lingering odors on individual items. FYI for those who may be sensitive to certain smells.)

    • SHIPPING – Dolls will come ribbon-tied inside their factory retail presentation box, which will be covered with the factory protective plastic sleeve, shipped inside the original factory shipper box.

    REFURBISHED, REDRESSED. This exotic Colette Duranger doll has a medium-tan complexion, wide-set side-glancing green eyes, applied lashes in fairly good shape, pale pink metallic lip color, and metallic pink mani-pedi. Her mid-back-length platinum blond hair retains the original factory hairstyle with front pull-back half-pony and large banana curls. She has her original Model Behavior/NuFace body* with non-removable hands and split-toe high-heel feet. She comes with the following:

    • DRESS – This subtly contoured strapless slip-on mini shift is hand-knitted in metallic purple thread with subtle multi-color pink, aqua, and gold accents. A pico-edge matching choker with back snap is included. This ensemble will fit a wide variety of standard fashion dolls, including ones with larger bust like Fashion Royalty.
    • SHOES – These purple faux leather slip-on high-heel boots are subtly contoured and have decorative metal buckles with faux straps. They match the dress pretty well and are included as a bonus with the understanding that they have some age on them and the pleather is delicate and prone to damage if over-stretched or stressed. (Take care sliding on and off feet, making sure toes and heels do not stress fabric. Minor stress marks can be touched up with matching acrylic paint. If needed, heels can be reattached to uppers using a glue like UHU or E6000 that hardens gradually – making sure not to get glue on fabric surfaces that show.)

    *NOTE: This doll’s hands have become discolored/faded with age and have been recolored with Americana “Brown Sugar” acrylic paint applied in thin layers to achieve a color similar to but not an exact match to her body. This coloring is waterproof and permanent, and will not stain, scratch, or rub off as long as the doll is handled with reasonable care. (Activities like forcing on hard jewelry over hands could cause damage to painted finish.) It is not recommended to scrub painted vinyl vigorously using bristles or abrasive cleaners. For added resistance to rubs and scratched, one or two coats of acrylic matte varnish/sealer (like Liquitex or some other artist-grade brand) can be applied to painted areas and allow to dry a couple days before continued use.

    This lovely lady is 19 years old but still models and displays well. She’ll make a great addition for collectors new to Integrity fashion dolls or looking to add legacy dolls to their collection.

    Darla Daley: “Twist ‘N Shout” /2011 PP023 – (NRFB)

    NEVER REMOVED FROM BOX, GREAT CONDITION. Darla Daley, friend of Poppy Parker in the doll world of a young adult female fashion model in the 60’s in New York City, plays the part of a professional singer. She has a medium brown complexion, side-glancing large doe-like brown eyes (no applied lashes), and silver-tone button earrings. Her shoulder-length black hair is smoothed back and rolled under at the base of the neck, with a white ribbon headband holding her style in place. She comes wearing white fishnet pantyhose under a short black halter jumper trimmed in white, over a white ribbed turtleneck sweater. Also included are a black patent pleather flats with decorative black bows. The retail box is in great display condition and, of note, is the fact that this box has only one pink tie ribbon on the right side facing the window display lid. The lid is attached to the box bottom and hinges open on the left with the top and bottom corners intentionally manufactured with a split design to allow this movement.

    The Poppy Parker body is about the same height as a standard 11.5-inch fashion doll, with slightly slimmer chest, waist, and hips. She can share clothes with a variety of fashion dolls and has nicely designed articulation at the neck (front/back/side tilt), shoulders and hips (front/back/lateral), knees that bend, and twist/bend articulation at the elbows, wrists, and ankles. The shaped flat feet are larger than most standard fashion dolls, so shoe choices may be limited, although the ankles can tilt to accommodate high heels. Toe box width is the critical factor in shoe fit. 

    This Darla, sought after by doll enthusiasts, was designed under the direction of Jason Wu, has top-notch clothing, displays wonderfully, and is cute as a button. She’ll make a great addition to any curated collection. She will ship inside her original retail box, carefully packed inside a shipper box.

She comes on a Poppy Parker body* with removable hands and is shown here wearing a brown tulle ruffle skirt with patent vinyl trim and hidden shimmer sparkles, matched with a simple cream cropped sleeveless rib-knit turtleneck top. Slip-on dark brown leatherette toe-strap heels with bead adornment are from Joe Tai, and have molded high heel soles. Shoes will come packaged in a pink and white Joe Tai brand lift-top retail shoe box. Skirt is designed to fit slender dolls and snaps in back. Top has Velcro-type back fastener. The Poppy Parker body has articulation at neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, chest, hips, knees, and ankles, and is about the same height as (or a smidgen taller than) standard belly-button or made-to-move Mattel Barbie. Feet are larger than most standard fashion dolls and may not be able to wear the same shoes interchangeably unless shoes are made to stretch or have a large foot capacity.

    *NOTE: This doll’s hands and feet have become discolored (yellowed) with age. The hands can be switched out for color-matched replacements, but, as far as we know, the feet cannot be replaced using regular body-switch means. After display pictures were added to this listing, Americana “Brown Sugar” acrylic paint was applied in thin layers to achieve a color similar to but not an exact match to her body. This coloring will stay in place if not washed vigorously with water or scrubbed with soap, bristles, or abrasive cleaners. It may, however, retain scratch marks or rubs if the doll is handled rough (like trying to fit tight shoes or slide jewelry over hands without removing them first). To make coloring more permanent and resistant to water, staining, and scratches, apply one or two coats of acrylic matte varnish/sealer (like Liquitex or some other artist-grade brand) and allow to dry a couple days before continued use.
